The Rookie: Feds is a 2023 American police procedural that follows rookie FBI special agent Simone Clark (Niecy Nash-Betts), a former DC school counselor who finally joined the FBI achieving a life long dream. After Quantico where she completed her FBI training Simone moved back to LA, her home, and moved in with her father Cutty (Frankie Faison). Simone uses her strengths--wit and a gregarious personality--to charm witnesses and unsubs in order to solve cases. Simone struggles with being taken seriously as she's a bit atypical compared her colleagues (Black, Female, LGBTQ+ all-in-one). Because she approaches things so differently, she frequently butts heads with her training officer Carter Hope (James Lesure). Over the series we see Carter start to respect Simone's methods and even rely on her to help in critical moments. The series ends with the team leaving for Simone's 49th birthday party, after she just forced them all to tag along.
